A little bit about me.....
I'm a homeschooling mum, a nature lover and a minimalist. I'm a book lover who never gets enough time to read, a bird spotter that rarely gets time to chase birds and a creative spirit that struggles to find the time for my creative aspirations........Basically....a parent like every other parent.

I'm also a credentialed Mental Health Nurse with over 24 years experiences across the acute child and youth setting as well as adult mental health services.

Since 2017 Ive been travelling around Australia with my Son and Partner. This experience has taught me a lot about the importance of open honest communication, minimalism, community, and the value of experience over possessions. It's also opened my eyes to how disconnected many people feel and their growing desire for more. Not necessarily more things but more time, more connection with family and nature and ourselves and more separateness from damaging systems that surround us.

In 2020 I lost my mother and both grandmothers. The holders of our family story. This, along with the death of my Sister, has dramatically changed the lens through which I view my life and the life I want for my son. It has also been a driver in my desire to distance myself from the government ran health systems and offer a more holistic, affordable option that values the importance of individual growth, in all aspects of our lives, in the hope that we may become more loving, compassionate and positive people.

Nature is not a place to visit, it is home....
Over the last 24 years i have worked in a variety of health care services with individuals, families and children. Over time my interests have varied as my experience has increased and my understanding of the complex interplay between lifestyle, health and happiness has expanded. In more recent years I have found myself drawn to the concepts of nature therapy, eco-therapy or green therapy and the effects on our health both mentally and physically. I believe that people have a deep need for connection and that our connection to the natural cycles and systems that create and support our bodies is essential. This connection is not only for our health but for the health of the environment. When we feel more connected to nature we not only tend to feel happier but we are also more likely to engage in sustainable behaviours. It's a win win.....
The Thearapeutic
Relationship
Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value...
-Albert Einstein
Over the years I have developed an acute appreciation for the power of the therapeutic relationship. Without this relationship there is no ability to assist a person to change their life for the better or even establish an idea of a persons honest, authentic reasons for seeking support. Such a relationship is essential, and is often the first space in which someone has chosen to share their intimate thoughts, beliefs and emotions. My aspiration is to provide a safe, open, honest and respectful space to create this relationship. In doing this my hope is that individuals may then spend time engaging in inward reflection, learn to establish desired connections and undergo meaningful growth in a way that is uniquely tailored to their needs. Sometimes this may involve supporting someone to process through acute difficulties that may require assistance with referrals or it may entail more complex struggles warranting more time and exploration. I don't diagnose and if, after discussion, I feel my service is not adequately able to meet your needs I will be happy to assist you to connect with more appropriate options. I am also happy to work as an adjunct to other treatment you may be already accessing.
